Alex + Danick planned a fun summer-camp themed wedding, complete with their first-look on the dock, ‘Camp Lesveque’ merch and a special appearance by their pup, Winnie! The morning after the wedding, we woke up to the Knapsack Coffee trailer in the meadow, slinging cardamom lattes for the very tired guests. What a lovely treat!

Choosing to elope in Manitoba is a big decision – especially considering the lack of resources available! We’ve put together our ‘Better-than-Vegas’ elopement collection to make the process easier for couples. The collection includes a stay in one of our cozy 2-person glamping domes, ceremony set up, trusted recommended vendors, a day-after DIY breakfast, and even witnesses if needed. Choose to elope in the traditional sense, with no other guests, or invite up to 10 of your closest friends and family to share the celebration with you. The small group means that you have more options for ceremony locations across our 10 acre property.
Sara and Marc chose to elope with myself and Rene as their witnesses. I also had the honour of being their photographer and Rene was their ring-bearer when Cheryl, from Marry Me, Hunnie, called for the rings. They stayed in our Aurora Dome, shared their vows just outside along one of the walking trails, and chased the storm clouds along the river bank before sneaking inside the pavilion for dinner. Their personal touches spoke of their connection to film + animation, including a handmade ring box that I can guarantee no one else has done before.

Janet + Iex Sung hosted 20 of their closest friends and family for their intimate Manitoba wedding. The weather allowed them to set up their family-style table al fresco on our meadow patio. Rene expertly baked their pizzas in the clay oven, while guests mingled, played yard games, and snuck treats to miss Josie. They chose to have their ceremony prior to the reception, with only family members present, making it even more intimate.

Oh man, where to even start? These two are like family. Rae + Nick not only celebrated their wedding at Wild Skies Resort, but also got engaged the year prior in our Aurora Dome! We’re forever grateful to have witnessed so many special moments with these two. Rae is also a talented photographer herself and you can see some of her work in our online merch shop!
Rae and Nick followed their heart in ever decision they made for their intimate wedding. Their custom designed beer labels show the story of their relationship and every detail of their reception was lovingly created by a close friend. Seeing them surrounded by so much love and support was pure magic.
Jess from Florence Photography took the couple 5 minutes up the road to Whitemouth Falls for their portraits, a chance for the two of them to sneak away and bask in the sunshine before saying ‘i do’.
If we had to pick our favorite moment from this wedding weekend, I guess we can narrow it down to two. 1 – two of their besties singing and performing their first dance song – seriously not a dry eye in the room. 2 – Rae’s epic late-night outfit change complete with custom jean jackets for the both of them. Could ya’ll be cooler?

A private first look in the aspen forest, rainy ceremony, bumpin’ reception with Kilter Beer on tap and late night pizza around a bonfire…what more could you want from a Manitoba wedding? Tannis + Jon’s wedding was one of the first to use our Piano Bar – we love it next to our vintage fridge turned kegerator!
We collaborated with local florist (Carnation Corner in Lac du Bonnet) and chef extraordinaire (Shannon from Spicy Radish in Whitemouth) to bring Tannis and Jon’s camping wedding vision to life. Details by Union Table, Blake Creative Co., and handmade table runners by Tannis’ mom added personal touches, while Bark Wedding Co. ensured their fur-baby was able to be a part of the wedding!
